Music is Hope

For my most recent project I decided to bring in my second love, music. The project involves digital and analog techniques in order to create an image that tells a story. Most of the objects in the image were scanned in and photoshopped in several different ways. The person in this is me and it was a picture taken for the digital aspect of the project. Hidden in this are my three biggest influences for music; Dispatch, Bob Marley, and Sublime. The paper in the background is filled with Dispatch lyrics and other lines or words that mean something to me personally. I believe that music is the one thing that is most important when bringing people together and getting a message out. It's more than just sound, but a way to create awareness and a way people can connect. Dispatch and Bob Marley made music that people could relate to and feel. Many of their songs were for particular issues on peace. If only there were more songs. Music is Hope.

Ghosts of Halloween

In the creepiness of October I wanted to created some ghostly scenes of motion. So, what better place to go than a graveyard. The above picture was taken with a 20 second shutter and about ever 7 seconds I moved to a new position. I felt like I was somewhat lost in the original picture so I decided to do a little photoshop magic to just leave my bright yellow jacket in color.

This photograph is of my friend Josh. He saw me taking the graveyard pictures and wanted to get in on the action. I got him to pose for a few and do some motion shots such as the one above. This was taken with a 10 second exposure where he moved every 5 seconds.
