Flemington Sunset

These images were all taken while I was on Thanksgiving break, back home in good ol' Flemington, NJ. The sun was setting and I was driving back home from my friends house and I had my camera with me so I stopped on the side of the road and took some pictures. I received some interesting looks from drivers rolling by, but I got some nice shots over the farm.

Music is Hope

For my most recent project I decided to bring in my second love, music. The project involves digital and analog techniques in order to create an image that tells a story. Most of the objects in the image were scanned in and photoshopped in several different ways. The person in this is me and it was a picture taken for the digital aspect of the project. Hidden in this are my three biggest influences for music; Dispatch, Bob Marley, and Sublime. The paper in the background is filled with Dispatch lyrics and other lines or words that mean something to me personally. I believe that music is the one thing that is most important when bringing people together and getting a message out. It's more than just sound, but a way to create awareness and a way people can connect. Dispatch and Bob Marley made music that people could relate to and feel. Many of their songs were for particular issues on peace. If only there were more songs. Music is Hope.

Ghosts of Halloween

In the creepiness of October I wanted to created some ghostly scenes of motion. So, what better place to go than a graveyard. The above picture was taken with a 20 second shutter and about ever 7 seconds I moved to a new position. I felt like I was somewhat lost in the original picture so I decided to do a little photoshop magic to just leave my bright yellow jacket in color.

This photograph is of my friend Josh. He saw me taking the graveyard pictures and wanted to get in on the action. I got him to pose for a few and do some motion shots such as the one above. This was taken with a 10 second exposure where he moved every 5 seconds.

Mixed Media

Toomas Altnurme is a Mixed Media Designer with a very unique style. He uses some rather vibrant colors and interesting themes. Check out his work on http://www.art-altnurme.com/
Below is one of his, in my opinion, most interesting and wild compositions. It's called "The Female Buddha"

Randomness

I feel like sometimes I am invisible to certain people and I wanted to find a way to capture that feeling. I sat at a cool looking area and set the shutter speed to 6 seconds and put the self-timer on. For the first 3 seconds of the shot I sat still and then got up fast and ran out of the shot for the last 3 seconds.

This is a shot of the hand of my best friend Alexa when she came to visit. She has so many funky bracelets and rings that I thought it would be interesting to get a shot at just about sunset to catch a good highlight on the hand.

This picture was shot using a 13 second exposure in order to blur the water flow but keep me in focus.

The shot of water on the left was taken using a 20 second shutter speed and a cooler white balance.

I've always had a facination with old grave stones and grave yards in general. There's a very strange but unique atmosphere at places such as this one that make it all the more fun to shoot.

I thought it would be interesting to put myself in this place to recognize that we'll all be here, but hopefully no time soon!

I'm sure everyone has enjoyed the feeling of taking a break from the world. This picture was not taken to portray sadness, but to create the warm feeling of having some alone time to think.

Hearts are always fun.

I wanted to show a little bit of who I am and what I love to do besides art, and that's music.

I took this picture because I found that the rusting chains and the chipped-away wood with an altered white balance would create somewhat of a cold scene. For some reason each time I view the picture I get the feeling that this was taken at the scene of an old Civil War battle field. I hope you like it and tell me what you think!
